A pickle is an article of food that has been preserved in brine or vinegar. The word pickle comes from the Dutch word for brine. A pickle can be any food product, but in some countries it usually refers to a cucumber that has been so preserved  Other pickled food products are named after the vegetable or fish that has been pickled, such as pickled onion or pickled mango, lime or vegetable!
